Taglit - Yachad

The Taglit-Birthright Israel project was founded ten years ago on the ideological principle recognizing that every Jew living in the Diaspora has a birthright to visit the state of Israel and meet its people. To this date, this project has brought 200,000 young Jews from 52 countries on a 10-day journey to Israel.

The NADAV Foundation's involvement in this project supported the program “Taglit- Mifgashim”, that allows thousands of Israeli soldiers to accompany “Taglit” participants on their tours around the country. Through these encounters between the Israeli soldiers and the young Jews from around the world, lasting bonds are formed and a dialogue ensues that not only bridges the distance gap, but cultural and lifestyle gaps as well.

Based on this project, the NADAV Foundation, together with the managing team of Taglit, have initiated a trial project called Taglit-Yachad, which brings together for the first time youth from 3 different Diaspora countries to encounter young Israelis simultaneously.

The goal of the new project was to deepen, through the visiting experience in Israel and the gathering with other participants, the feeling of a collective Jewish Identity within the participants and their sense of belonging to a Global Jewish People.

The encounters have, so far, included participants from Argentina, USA, Russia and Israel.
